Meet Our Staff

Miss Luisana -
Room 4
Miss Luisana is another long time veteran of La Cristianita, having been with us more than 20 years! One thing you’ll notice about Miss Luisana’s classroom is that the children are always asking questions. The natural curiosity of the students is nurtured so well in her class and the children are always hungry to know more. She has a unique understanding of how to meet children where they are at. Miss Luisana has had incredible success with language development and social and emotional growth in her classroom which has led to some very mature and capable students.

Miss Megan -
Room 5
Miss Megan works with our older toddlers that are two and ready for a more focused learning environment. In Room 5, Miss Megan is honing in on toilet independence skills as well as building attention spans for slightly longer circle times and tablework to build those oh-so-important preschooler skills they will need for their move up to the bigger classes. Miss Megan has years of experience with a focus on older toddlers and brings her A-game every day to prepare these kiddos for their next steps. You will usually hear Miss Megan’s students singing the ”Days of the Week” song or talking about what month comes next on our calendar!

Miss Chris -
Room 6
Miss Chris has been a teacher at La Cristianita Preschool for 33 years! Her children were students here and one of her daughters became an employee here herself at one point. Miss Chris has an amazing talent for helping children reach their full potential! When you step into her classroom, her students are busy and learning and the environment itself makes you feel as though you’ve stepped through the door of a kindergarten classroom. Miss Chris’ students are always hard at work practicing those important writing, reading, and social skills that they will take with them to elementary school. When your child leaves Miss Chris’ class, they will be confident and ready for the next step in their school journey!

Miss Susana - Toddlers/Room 1
Miss Susana came to La Cristianita in the summer of this year, and we are so glad to call her a member of our family! She has such a warm and calming presence and that seems to radiate onto all of her students. Miss Susana has worked with our toddler friends and will soon be transitioning into our infant program as soon as it opens. Originally from Mexico, she has been a preschool teacher for almost 10 years with a focus in infants, toddlers, and young twos. You will usually find Miss Susana encouraging her students’ language development and handing out tons of loving hugs

Miss Emily - Toddlers/Room 1
Miss Emily is new to La Cristianita but is already a beloved part of our staff. She came to us from Sunflower Montessori after spending three years there diligently honing her craft while simultaneously pursuing her second Montessori Degree. Miss Emily has a unique ability to connect with some our busiest children and bring the peace and mindfulness of her Montessori training into the classroom to focus those growing minds and curious hands. Her loving presence and calming tone create such a feeling of community and comfort in her classroom. Miss Emily spends her free time with family and her husband and enjoys all things country!

Miss Tiffany -
Room 2
Miss Tiffany works with our two- to three-year-olds and her classroom is always bustling! She has a patient spirit and calm demeanor that brings a sense of peace to her high energy students and creates a perfect space for discovery and child-led learning. She has a true passion for working with our "little big" kids and is always encouraging them to practice their independence skills and lead their own learning. In her spare time, Miss Tiffany enjoys spending time with her family and getting out in the sunshine!

Miss Ashley -
Room 3
Miss Ashley has been with La Cristianita for 5 years! She works with some of our busiest littles and her patience is an inspiration. There is always music and movement in Miss Ashley’s class and the children are always engaged and supported to follow their interests. You will often catch Miss Ashley singing with her students, helping them develop those oh-so-important pre-writing skills, and encouraging them to tell their imaginative stories and those chatterboxes are happy to share! Miss Ashley has a talent for making connections with all of the students here at La Cristianita, not just the ones in her own class.

Miss Lisa -
Room 7
Miss Lisa has been with La Cristianita for just about six years now. In years past, Miss Lisa has paired with other teachers to work with our preschool aged children and this year she became the lead of her very own classroom! Miss Lisa has a kind-hearted and holistic approach to early childhood education and works to inspire and nurture the “whole child” in her classroom. Miss Lisa’s students always say that their favorite part of the day is working in the classroom centers.

Miss Jenna
Miss Jenna has been with La Cristianita for about 10 years and, it is safe to say, there is not one child on our campus that doesn’t love her! Miss Jenna has an amazing ability to make every child she meets smile. You will often see Miss Jenna bustling from room to room assisting teachers and making sure our program runs smoothly. She is always on the move! Miss Jenna has been studying early childhood education for years and has honed her understanding of developmental practices to a “t”! Her support and devotion to our students is a big part of what makes the wheels turn here.

Miss Karen
Miss Karen has been with La Cristianita for a couple years now and her presence on the playground always leaves an impression! You will usually see Miss Karen outside with our students doing an art project or calling out numbers for hide and seek. She is such a loving and nurturing caregiver! Miss Karen has worked with children for many years and has a wealth of experience to draw from.

Miss Caity - Director
As a person who grew up with a mom who ran a preschool out of their home, early childhood education is not only a career, but a life’s work, so my program standards have always been very high. When I came to La Cristianita after 17 years of preschool teaching and administration, I knew that I had landed somewhere truly special. I have a background in Montessori education as well as play-based and child-led learning styles and it’s my goal to make our program the absolute best place for children to develop their own natural love of learning and self-led discovery. I love to spend my free time with my husband and children and our two dogs, usually here at school tinkering with new materials for the students.

Miss Shelby - Assistant Direct
Miss Shelby is truly the backbone of La Cristianita Preschool! She has been with the program since 2002 and she knows this place inside and out. She started here as a teacher and has spent these years building lifelong bonds with teachers and parents until she was promoted to Assistant Director in 2023. One thing you will notice is that every child who walks through our doors daily knows Miss Shelby! She makes even our new students feel so very safe. With a degree in early childhood education, Miss Shelby has a truly unique understanding of child development and her insight is valued campus-wide. We would all be lost without her.
Miss Shelby is your go-to admin on site in the event Miss Caity is not here so she can answer all your questions too!

Miss Debra - Infants/Room 8
Miss Debra has been a part of La Cristianita for many years! She is actually mom to one of our teachers, and an absolute staple here on campus. Miss Debra spent many years as a kindergarten and preschool teacher before retiring to spend time with her husband and daughters. We were lucky enough to be able to steal her back to the preschool world to sub for us before finally snagging her full time! Miss Debra has made such a huge impression on our program and all of our students. Every child she meets seems to immediately feel at ease and becomes engaged with their environment and our classroom materials right away. Miss Debra has the impressive ability to connect with each and every child who comes through our doors, regardless of their age or classroom assignment.

Miss Christina - Room 8
Miss Christina is our Infant program’s assistant teacher! She has years of experience working with our littlest littles and brings her experience and her loving nature to the classroom every day. She and Miss Debra make an incredible team and bring such a warm and nurturing feel to our infant environment. You will often see Miss Christina on the floor with our tummy timers and crawlers boosting social interaction and eye contact or on the infant playground supporting sensory and social play with our walking infants.
